May 2019 – Exclamation Points

Celebrating: Mom, Kids and Community

Henry and Delia Dibrell.

Happy Mother’s Day and happy summer vacation! It’s May already and that means we celebrate our moms, kids get out of school and summer vacations start. In this issue, we celebrate two very special moms who are literally “doctor moms.” They share their stories about how they manage and succeed at two of the most important jobs: physicians and mothers.

We have also included a Mother’s Day Gift Guide just in case you need a little help getting mom that thoughtful gift. Everything is about moms in this issue. We also share meaningful ways to give mom the world while supporting moms around the world through the United National Children’s Fund. Learn about these amazing and thoughtful gifts on page 9.

The Katy Chamber of Commerce has hired a brand new CEO – meet Matthew Ferraro. Ferraro comes to the Katy Chamber from the Fort Bend Chamber, where he served as Vice President. Welcome Matthew! The Chamber has also moved its offices back to the city of Katy, and we are so happy that they back in our great city.

This month we also introduce readers to an outstanding young man. Adam Sulemanji just earned his Eagle Scout. Congratulations Adam! And, our very own Memorial Hermann Hospital was named a 2018 Foster G. McGaw Prize Finalist. Congratulations to a great hospital right here in our community!

We hope your summer gets off to a great start! Throw a huge party for mom and send us your celebration photos. We would love to see them!

Absolutely yours,
