He is currently being recognized as the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators Principal of the Year and is now a Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association National Distinguished Principal Finalist.

Paz holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston and a Masters of Education in Education Administration. He also holds a Doctor of Education degree in Public School Administration from Texas A&M University. As campus principal at Mayde Creek Junior High, he continues to lead by setting the bar high for student achievement. He has developed various programs to improve student success, such as an algebra lab and an afterschool tutorial program called Gator Academy for at-risk students.

Congratulations to these outstanding principals!
