July is the month we celebrate our freedom as a nation and that means fireworks, family and fun! Katy boasts several ways to celebrate our nation’s birthday, along with some other great ways to enjoy summer fun. Give them a try and enjoy all that is kickin’ in Katy!


July 4th

Katy Freedom Celebration
City of Katy Complex • 9 am – 1 pm

This celebration is held at the City of Katy Complex between the Fire Department and VFW Park off of Ave D. Enjoy plenty of activities hosted by the Katy Fire Department and Katy Parks and Recreation Department. For details, visit cityofkaty.com/departments/parks/special-events.


July 4th

Katy Freedom Fireworks Celebration
8 – 10 pm

The evening program of fireworks and music will be held near Typhoon Texas and Katy Mills Mall. Bring the family, lawn chairs, snacks and drinks and celebrate with your Katy neighbors. For details, visit cityofkaty.com/departments/parks/special-events.


July 4th

LaCenterra July 4th Celebration
LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch • 5 – 10 pm

Bring family and friends and celebrate Independence Day that will include a night of fun! It’s going to be a block party style of celebration that will include live entertainment, a fun hands-on kids zone, food for purchase and of course, a professional fireworks display. July 7th

Pour Into Houston Cornhole Tournament
No Label Brewery
5351 1st Street • 3 – 10 pm

Have fun in the Cornhole (bags) tournament benefiting Pour Into Hous-ton, an organization dedicated to providing mental health counseling, education and awareness to disadvantaged men, women and children. The event is family-oriented and open the public with food trucks and fun for all. Enjoy a special performance by Katy-native and contestant on ABC’s The Bachelorette James McCoy Taylor!
