Back to school!  What an exciting and promising time of year.  Boys and girls dressed in new clothes with a new backpack are nervously excited for new teachers, new friends and new subjects to learn.  They might even be going to a new school. Parents have a range of emotions from, “Where did the summer go?” to “I’m ready for some structure and normalcy.” “Teachers have recharged, attended trainings and workshops and are preparing their lessons and classrooms with their hearts and minds filled with possibilities for their students.

Back to school means football games, marching bands, drill teams and cheerleaders for Friday Night Lights. Our multi-talented students are involved in a myriad of extra-curricular activities, and they excel at them. If you are looking for entertainment or events, look no further than your neighborhood schools.

Katy ISD will top 80,000 students during the 2018-19 school year as we welcome new boys and girls across our community.  Our 41st elementary school, Amy Campbell Elementary, will open its doors  to new students in the southwest part of the district. Have a great first year Campbell Cubs.

Next year, Katy ISD will open elementary #42 and Junior High #16. Katy ISD continues to be a leader in education because of your children, your high expectations and our commitment to provide exceptional teachers, staff and opportunities for children.

Another vital part of our schools are our outstanding volunteers. PTAs, Watchdog Dads, Booster Clubs, Mentors and a host of other volunteer opportunities make a difference in the lives of our children. These opportunities afford each of us the possibility to be a part of our children’s legacy. Big or small, all contributions matter! Come join the excitement of Katy ISD and be a part of our vision… Be The Legacy!
