Summertime starts winding down in August, yet there is still plenty of time to get out and have some fun! Whether you are enjoying a little extra fun in the sun or about to get the kids ready to head back-to-school, take a little time to relax and soak up all that is Kickin’ In Katy this month!

August 1st – 12th

Monty Ballard YMCA Cinco Ranch and Katy Main Street YMCA Operation Backpack

Help kids make the grade! YMCAs across the Greater Houston area are gearing up to provide school supplies for children in our communities so they can start school with the tools to be successful. Help the YMCA make a difference and support their goal of distributing 120,000 backpacks. Katy ISD Legacy Stadium Dedication

Times:  6:30 – 9 pm

Tours Begin at 3 pm

The entire community is invited to come out and be part of the dedication for Katy ISD’s new Legacy Stadium, located at the Academy Sports & Outdoors Student Activity Complex. The dedication event begins at 6:30 pm and will include a special dedication of Mike Johnston Field, as well as the Katy ISD Hall of Honor.  Concessions will be available.  Boosters Clubs will be selling your favorite team spirit wear, and all Katy ISD Varsity football teams and high school bands will be in attendance. Help the Taylor High School Band bring spirit and pride at the start of a new school year, and help raise money for the award-winning Taylor Band organization. Visit for parade route.

KISD Football Season Kick Off
