If you are not familiar with Pine Cove Christian Camps, then chances are you soon will be. The non-profit camp has been a leading name in Christian camping for 45 years. In fact, just last summer Pine Cove saw their one millionth camper come through their gates. In addition to their three family camps and five youth camps, Pine Cove also operates 44 satellite camps called Base Camps. These Base Camps are spread throughout the southeastern U.S. with 14 of the sites located right here in the greater Houston area.
Historically summer camp has been a destination that people often traveled a great distance to attend. With Base Camps, Pine Cove is challenging that tradition and partnering with churches across the southeast to bring summer camp to new locations. Pine Cove’s desire is to build a deeper longer-standing relationship with campers than what a single week of camp allows. Therefore, they have decided to partner with local churches that are committed to investing in the community long after camp is over.
Base Camp runs from 9 am to 4 pm each weekday and is for students entering 1st through 5th grade. All of the traditional fun of Pine Cove summer camp is packaged up and delivered each week. Some of the activities include climbing walls, bungee trampolines, and giant slip ’n slides.
In addition to their Houston Base Camps, Pine Cove is also expanding their facility just west of Katy. Pine Cove Outback, located in Columbus, Texas, hosts 2nd through 9th grade campers for a more traditional overnight program. Campers at Outback will get to experience fun activities like horseback riding, giant waterslides, and elaborate theme nights.
Give Pine Cove a chance this summer. Whether you are looking for day camp or overnight camping options, Pine Cove seems to have it.
